Common skin concerns – and what helps

← All topics: Skin & Hair Knowledge

Weather, heated air, stress or unsuitable products – many things can upset your skin's balance. Here you'll find the most common skin concerns and how to support your skin with targeted care.

1Dry, rough skin

Typical: feeling of tightness, fine flakes

Possible causes: too few lipids, overly harsh cleansing, cold air or heated indoor air

What helps:

  • mild cleansing without alcohol
  • hydration, e.g. with aloe vera or hyaluronic acid
  • replenishing oils such as jojoba or almond

MoNature tip: Massage a few drops of plant oil into still-damp skin right after showering – this keeps the moisture in your skin.

2Oily, shiny skin

Typical: shine in the T-zone, visible pores, often blemishes

Possible causes: active sebaceous glands – often in response to overly harsh care or hormonal changes

What helps:

  • don't dry it out – mildly clarifying and hydrating care
  • balancing plant extracts such as witch hazel, sage or green tea

MoNature tip: Light, non-comedogenic oils such as grape seed or jojoba feel pleasant even on oily skin.

3Blemishes

Typical: individual spots or blemished areas, often on the chin or forehead

Possible causes: clogged pores from overly rich care, make-up residue, hormones or stress

What helps:

  • daily, mild cleansing – remove make-up thoroughly in the evening
  • clarifying plant extracts such as tea tree oil, lavender or chamomile

MoNature tip: A hydrosol (e.g. sage or rose water) as a toner refreshes and clarifies – without any alcohol.

4Redness & sensitive skin

Typical: sensitive, slightly reddened skin

Possible causes: fragrances, alcohol, too many products or environmental factors

What helps:

  • low-irritant care without fragrances and colourants
  • soothing ingredients such as panthenol, oat or calendula

MoNature tip: A simple, mild oil such as almond or squalane cares for the skin barrier – less is often more.

5Dull, tired skin

Typical: greyish complexion, little radiance

Possible causes: lack of sleep, stress, heated air, UV radiation or unsuitable care

What helps:

  • gentle facial massage with a little oil – for a fresh look
  • antioxidants such as vitamin C or rosehip
  • regular, gentle exfoliation
  • hydration with aloe vera or hyaluronic acid

MoNature tip: Apply a few drops of oil after your toner – it keeps moisture in the skin and gives a visible glow.

Good to know: Your skin doesn't need ten products – just the right ones. For persistent or severe skin problems, please consult a dermatologist.
